AN INTRODUCTION TO THE ANALYSIS OF ACCELERATED EXPERIMENTS OF RELIABILITY VIA GENERALIZED LINEAR MODELS.

§    ABSTRACT: efficient industrial experiments for the reliability analysis of manufactured components may consist in submitting the units to higher stress levels than the usual working conditions, resulting in the so called a accelerated life tests. In these tests, for each pre-fixed stress levels, the experiment ends after the failure of a certain proportion of units . The aim of this paper is to present a methodology for point and interval estimation of the mean life time of the units under usual working conditions. The approach is based on generalized linear modelling and related inferential techniques, under the assumption of an exponential failure distribution and different stress-response relationships.
