§    ABSTRACT: A graphical representation of the score difference for a basketball game was showed by Westfall (1990). Based on his approach, a basketball game was recorded in order to study not only the score difference plot at the last minutes of the game but also the possibility of real time forecasting. In the presents work, automatic time series was used due to the short period of time the events occurs which make subjective considerations impractical. Among the chosen models are Akaike (1976) approach for the State Space Model and the Smoothing Exponential Models, which are easily adaptable for real time forecasting during a basketball game.

§    KEYWORDS: Forecasting; State Space Models; Exponential Smoothing.
