A linear version of the one-dimensional locally extended trapezoidal formula

§       abstract: We present a linear version of the one-dimensional locally extended trapezoidal formula (ETF-LOD), proposed by Chawla and Al-Zanaidi (2001) for time integration of the non-linear reaction-diffusion equation in bidimensional space, ut=n (uxx+uyy)+p(u), Numerical results show that machine time processing is substantially reduced without a significant increase in error when linearization is used.
